Description
Internal StarTech.com adapter that converts a motherboard IDC header into an RS-232 serial port, with a single output of this type. Its bracket format allows it to be fixed inside the computer and the connection to be routed to the exterior, which is common when the motherboard does not include that port from the factory. The cable measures 0.406 m, a length sufficient to reach from the motherboard connector to the rear of the case without straining the run. It is grey in colour and has dimensions of 121 x 21 x 406.4 mm (width x height x depth), so it takes up little space once installed. Its weight of 31 g makes it a lightweight component that does not add appreciable load to the chassis. It complies with CE, REACH and RoHS certifications, so it meets current compatibility and sustainability requirements. It is a practical solution for recovering an RS-232 serial port on modern computers that only offer an IDC header on the motherboard.
