Description
The EQUIP 221161 gender changer for RJ-45 cable in silver colour allows two network patch cables with female connectors at both ends to be joined. It has two female RJ-45 ports with a straight form factor, so that each patch cable enters from one side of the adapter. It supports Cat5e category cables, making it suitable for network installations working with this cabling category. Its function is to link two already terminated cable runs and thus resolve a one-off connection without the need to replace the patch cables. Being Plug and Play compatible, it requires no configuration or additional software: it is connected and ready for use. The adapter body measures 15.8 x 30.4 x 17.8 mm (width x height x depth) and weighs 9 g, so it barely adds any bulk at the joining point. It has a RoHS certificate of conformity.
