Description
The StarTech.com Gigabit Ethernet Media Converter is a black device that connects a UTP RJ45 Ethernet network with a fibre optic network. It features an SFP slot for the fibre optic connector and offers a 1000Base-T input interface with 1000Base-LX and 1000Base-SX output. It reaches a data transfer rate of up to 1250 Mbit/s and an Ethernet LAN speed of 1000 Mbit/s, with full duplex and half duplex system. It complies with the IEEE 802.3, IEEE 802.3ab, IEEE 802.3u and IEEE 802.3z standards, and includes auto MDI/MDI-X to simplify cabling. Its steel casing measures 95 x 20 x 160 mm and weighs 400 g, and it has LED indicators for link status monitoring. The connectivity technology is wired and its mean time between failures is 65000 hours, with an external power adapter.
