Description
Converts Ethernet networks to fibre optic with the StarTech.com media converter, a black unit that links 10/100 Mbps frames with multimode fibre links. It features an SC connector and an RJ-45 Ethernet port, so the wired connection is covered between both environments. It supports full duplex and half duplex, with auto MDI/MDI-X to adapt the cabling without manual adjustments, and complies with IEEE 802.3 and IEEE 802.3u standards. It reaches a transfer distance of up to 2000 m over multimode fibre with a wavelength of 1310 nm, with a maximum data transfer rate of 200 Mbit/s. Its steel housing measures 87 x 24 x 153 mm (width x height x depth) and weighs 600 g, with a current output of 1.6 A and a type M plug.
