Description
The StarTech.com OM3 fibre optic cable is a turquoise multimode patch cord with a 2 m cable, designed to connect equipment in data networks. It features an LC connector on one end and an SC connector on the other, allowing transceivers and patch panels with different interfaces to be connected. Its OM3 multimode fibre, with a 50 µm core and 125 µm cladding, supports a data transfer rate of 10 Gbit/s and wavelengths of 850 nm. Transmission is full duplex, so traffic flows in both directions simultaneously. The jacket is made of halogen-free material (LSZH), a common choice in installations where safety in the event of fire is prioritised over smoke.
