Description
The StarTech.com LC-SC fibre optic cable is a 1 m multimode duplex patch cord with male connectors at both ends. Its construction with OM2 fibre and a 50 µm core over a 125 µm cladding is designed to link active equipment in network installations. The LC connector at one end and the SC at the other make it easy to connect ports of different formats. The halogen-free jacket (LSZH) reduces the emission of toxic fumes in the event of fire, a relevant detail in enclosed spaces. Its full bidirectional operation allows data to be transmitted and received simultaneously. The assembly weighs 18 g and comes in orange, the usual distinguishing colour of multimode fibre. The 1 m cable length is suitable for short connections within a rack or between nearby equipment. It complies with the RoHS directive on hazardous substances.
