Description
The LINDY 47453 fibre optic cable is an OS2 single-mode patch cable with male LC connectors at both ends, designed to link equipment in fibre and InfiniBand installations. Its blue and white and yellow colour allows the patch cable to be identified within a rack containing several similar cables. With a 5 m cable, it covers the usual distance between a port and the target equipment without the need for intermediate splices. The 9 µm core and 125 µm cladding conform to the single-mode fibre standard, where the reduced core diameter guides light in a single propagation mode. The 0.3 dB insertion loss indicates low signal attenuation as it passes through the connector, a relevant figure when several sections are chained in the same link. As it is halogen-free, it is suitable for fibre cabling in environments where the composition of materials is a concern.
