Description
Connects serial port equipment using the StarTech.com Serial RS232 extension cable, a black patch cable 0.5 m long that connects a DB-9 male connector to a DB-9 female connector. Its Straight Through configuration, also suitable for EGA video signal, allows the connection between devices to be extended without altering the line routing. The contacts on both connectors are nickel-plated, providing wear resistance with every connection and disconnection. The polyvinyl chloride, PVC, jacket protects the 28 AWG conductors, while the mylar aluminium foil shielding reduces interference on the transmitted signal. The assembly weighs 66 g, so it barely adds any load to the setup and is manageable in installations where space is limited. It also complies with RoHS, REACH and CE certifications.
