Description
The Allied Telesis DMC1000/SC media converter, in grey, connects a 1000Base-T Ethernet network with a 1000Base-SX multi-mode fibre optic installation. It reaches a data transfer speed of 1000 Mbit/s and covers distances of up to 550 m over 50/125 or 62.5/125 µm fibre, working with a wavelength of 850 nm. Its operation supports full-duplex and half-duplex mode, and it incorporates auto-negotiation and Auto MDI/MDI-X to adapt to the cabling without manual configurations. It also manages link loss return and link loss carry forward, so that connected equipment detects when the fibre span is interrupted. The LED indicators show the status of the connections and traffic. With dimensions of 31.8 x 21.6 x 91.4 mm (width x height x depth) and a weight of 113 g, it is a compact piece that integrates easily into the rack or at the installation point.
