The CHERRY SmartTerminal ST-1144 is a smart card reader in black and grey that connects to the equipment via a USB 2.0 interface. Its dimensions of 75 x 51 x 55 mm (width x height x depth) and its weight of 300 g make it a compact device for the workplace. The 1.75 m cable offers sufficient scope to place the terminal wherever is most convenient. Its maximum current consumption is 0.1 A, so that the energy demand on the port is low. Operation is intended for an operating temperature range of 0 to 60 °C and a relative humidity of -20 to 50%. The mechanism withstands 100000 cycles mean time between failures, a useful figure for environments of continuous use.
