Description
The StarTech.com HDMI Audio Extractor separates the sound signal from an HDMI stream to send it to an external audio device. It accepts resolutions of up to 1920 x 1080 pixels and is compatible with 480p, 720p and 1080p video modes, as well as handling HDCP protection. The host and output interfaces are HDMI, while audio output is via a 3.5 mm connector with support for 2.1 channels. It is powered via USB and the necessary USB cable is included, so you can connect the device without the need for an additional power source. Its Explore-EP93Z3E chipset handles the signal conversion. The unit weighs 38 g and measures 55 x 20 x 60 mm (width x height x depth), so it can be placed without any problem next to the rest of your equipment. It has CE and FCC certification.
