Description
Converts copper networks to fibre optic with the StarTech.com Gigabit Ethernet Media Converter, a black unit that links 1000Base-T segments with 1000Base-LX single-mode links via LC connectors. It reaches a maximum transfer distance of 10000 m and operates at a wavelength of 1310 nm, which allows long network spans to be covered without intermediate repeaters. It is compatible with IEEE 802.3ab and IEEE 802.3z standards and supports speeds of 10, 100 and 1000 Mbit/s, with a maximum data transfer rate of 2000 Mbit/s in full duplex mode. It features auto MDI/MDI-X and 9600 Jumbo frame support, as well as link and power LED indicators to check port status at a glance. Its casing combines plastic and steel, and the unit measures 88 x 23 x 163 mm (width x height x depth) with a weight of 411 g.
