Description
The StarTech.com null modem cable is a serial data cable with female DB-9 connectors on both ends, designed to link equipment that requires this type of connection. Its 2 m cable offers sufficient slack to install devices without straining the connection, and its black colour makes it easy to integrate into installations where cabling goes unnoticed. The mylar aluminium foil shielding helps to reduce interference in data transmission, an important aspect in environments with other electrical equipment nearby. The polyvinyl chloride (PVC) jacket protects the internal conductors and provides resistance to continuous use. With an AWG 28 gauge, the cable maintains a contained diameter that helps to organise the run and to connect it in tight spaces. Both connectors are straight type, which simplifies direct connection to female or male ports as applicable. The assembly weighs 140 g.
