Description
The StarTech.com converter adapts a 40-pin IDE drive to a computer with a SATA interface. It connects the hard drive or optical drive via the IDE connector (40-pin; EIDE/PATA), the SATA port (7+15 pin) and the SP4 connector (4 pin), so that the old drive can continue to work with a SATA controller. Its Marvell 88SA8052 chipset achieves a maximum data transfer rate of 0.133 Gbit/s and supports 48-bit logical block addressing (LBA). The adapter is red, has an internal form factor, weighs 29 g and measures 20 x 23 x 75.5 mm (width x height x depth), so it is installed inside the case taking up hardly any space. It supports an operating temperature range of 5 to 50 °C and an operating relative humidity of 15 to 90%, with a storage temperature of -25 to 80 °C. It has FCC, CE, TAA and REACH certification, RoHS compliance and includes a user manual.
