Description
The StarTech.com Serial to Ethernet Adapter with black metal housings, designed for professional environments, converts into a 4-port RJ-45 LAN IP to DB-9 RS232 serial device server. This converter integrates IEEE 802.3i and IEEE 802.3u network standards with auto-negotiation, auto MDI/MDI-X, and full duplex bidirectional communication for smooth network operation. It offers electrostatic discharge protection of 15 kV in air and 8 kV by contact, plus wall or DIN rail mounting for versatile installation. The serial ports support data bits of 7 or 8, even, odd, or space parity, and RTS/CTS or XON/XOFF flow control, with female DB-9 and RJ-45 connectors. With TAA certification, this model facilitates remote management of serial devices with an RS-232 host interface.
